Faculty Member, School of Leisure
Senior Lecturer in Events Management
About
I teach on the undergraduate programmes of the School of Leisure, principally in Events and Music Management, and also contribute to postgraduate courses in festivals management within the Faculty of Media, Arts and Technology.
Prior to joining the University of Gloucestershire, I held the position of lecturer in cultural industries management at the University of Greenwich, London. I also have professional experience in the heritage and arts sectors, particularly in the areas of venue management, exhibitions and curating, and have worked on a number of publicly-funded capital and audience development projects. I hold an MA in Museology from the University of East Anglia and am a member of the Museums Association and Association of Event Management Educators.
I have acted as an external academic advisor to the Univeristy of the Arts, London and the Arts University College at Bournemouth and am currently external examiner for an FdA in Events Management at the University of Plymouth Partner Colleges.
My research interests are in spaces and places for hedonic consumption focussing on heritage and cultural event experience/servicescapes, and liminal consumption/fringe events, particularly “boutique“ music festivals and new age tourism.
