Graduate Student, Media, Art and Communication
PhD Candidate
About
Keith is a PhD candidate in the faculty of Media, Art, and Communication at the University of Gloucestershire. His current research is a Foucauldian discourse analysis, examining the virtuoso rock guitarist as a discursive object.
Before beginning his research, he completed a Bachelors degree (1st class honours) in Humanities with a music specialism, focusing on western classical ‘tonal’ music (c.1600 – 1900). His other interests are the composition process, the technology of music, and image and identity.
Keith is also an active practitioner and spent several years as a working musician before taking an interest in the academic side.
Outside of music, he works as a consultant for an international consulting organisation serving the interests of a number of major corporate clients.
